Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver

•May 10, 2009 • 1 Comment

Hi again! After almost a whole month not posting here, and again for the same reason (I’m not making these up, but the workload and assignments here are really not what I expected to be), I come back with a great news. For those who missed out about the news, last week, there is a rumor arising about the remakes of the Pokemon Gold and Silver versions. The reason for this is because last week, the aired Pokemon show in Japan announced a new Pokemon game, and within the screen are two Pokeballs, made of gold and silver. Thus, after couple of days, it is CONFIRMED! The long awaited remake of the Pokemon Gold and Silver (best versions, in my opinion in terms of gameplay value) is announced! The Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver. These are the screenshots from the currently developed game. It shows the player (either Gold or Silver) walking around New Bark Town with Chikorita following him. Images are courtesy of Serebii.net

From the looks of it, it is built on the same engine with 4th Generation Pokemon games, and obviously for Nintendo DS console. However with the inclusion of the screenshot, it seemed that your starter Pokemon will be following you around just like in Pokemon Yellow. There are currently no updates and news regarding this, but Serebii.net says that the next CoroCoro magazine will feature the two Pokemon games in their next issue this Thursday. And last but not least, it is scheduled for Fall 2009 release in Japan. So expect about half a year or so for the American release. And while we wait for the next CoroCoro magazine, I would also like to remind you who resides in Japan or USA that the event for the Key Card for the Rotom forms will be ceased in less than 48 hours. If you’re in Japan or USA, don’t forget to get that. And see you next post..!

How to Get a Great Deal when Shopping Online

•April 11, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Hi there! Again it’s been a month since the last update, and again I felt sorry about that. I intend to post here regularly, but it seems that I still have some difficulties adjusting my time to my new schedule. Anyway, since I live in Australia now, one way or another I have to be able to purchase several items online, whether I like it or not. Back in my home country, it was such a mess whenever I try to purchase something online. Not only did the currency rate make the price seems expensive, the delivery service couldn’t be trusted either. Not to mention some sellers in eBay blacklisted my country. When I moved here, I had the time to set up my account and after that I started to shop online. It gives me the convenience of being able to buy something from all over the world, without the currency conversion, only using Australian dollars. Anyway, since I started to shop online, I had to research for an item before I decide to buy it. I’ve learned the hard way, some of my friends also learned that if you don’t do research first, you’ll end up paying more than you’re supposed to. Here are some guides to get the best possible experience when shopping online.

Please note that because I’m currently in Australia, all of the websites I will mention and figures are of Australian origin.

1. Always try to find discount coupons, rebates, or codes

The best thing about internet is that people can share what they want to share without any restrictions. And that also goes to coupons and discount codes. Several sites such as www.ozbargain.com.au provides many discount codes and coupons for various websites. And it also provides any best deals or offers that a particular website can make (I spotted a 1TB 3.5 inch external hard drive only at A$150 whereas the retail price is beyond A$200). But beware though, a discount codes and coupons usually have an expiry date, so you should check back more often with the site. Rebates, or with a more popular term, cash back, can be a good offer to save money, since you really get the feeling of getting back your money. The downside though, cash backs are usually take a longer time. It may take up to 3 or more weeks to have your money back, and probably after that time you wouldn’t worry too much about that $20 you spent in the first place.

2. Do some several comparisons on the item you would like to buy

It’s $39 on this site. I decided to buy it. Besides, who can get a Logitech speaker for just $39? Turns out that, the next website that you click would probably have it sold for just $29. It really pays off to do some research, and sometime a research and comparison could really save you a lot. I try to compare the price of a PlayStation 3 console with 80GB hard drive. The market price is about A$650, bundled with the Killzone 2 game and a HDMI cable. After I did some research, I could get the console, and one selected game with only A$560, and it’s brand new. Think about that A$90 you could save when trying to compare from site to site. Even for the simple things such as the HDMI cable. The retail price for 5 meter HDMI cable is about A$20 to A$25, while after some comparing and research, I got it for just A$10. There are several sites that provide searching bots for comparing such as www.shoppingbot.com.au and some review sites even give the best minimum available price. However, take a note that the site may not always give you the best available price, so you also have to do some research first.

•March 10, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Hi there! It’s been more than a month since my previous post on my sanctuary, and I apologize for that. I was moving to Melbourne at February, so I had to adjust several of my habits (and who thought that time seems like going faster in here…) and I haven’t got the time to post. Anyway, to compensate for that, here is the VAIO March 2009 Calendar (History) Wallpaper. It’s a bit sad that VAIO doesn’t make any other calendar wallpaper but focusing on history wallpaper instead. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 3

•January 15, 2009 • Leave a Comment

A few days ago, the Japanese magazine known for its early screenshot and publication of games (notably the Pokemon series), CoroCoro, revealed a page about the rumored upcoming Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series. The given title in the page was Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky. Try to google that and you’ll be taken to various blogs that provide the details about the upcoming game. They’re still the same details, though. Here are those details, as well as a nice screenshots for you.

  • It is possible that Explorers of the Sky is a direct sequel of the previous Explorers of Time/Darkness, given the similarity of the title. This is somehow confirmed as in the CoroCoro page, there’s a Grovyle there (doh, it’s obvious!).
  • Because of the title, many speculates that Shaymin and it’s Sky Forme will be featured in the game.
  • There are five new starters, Eevee, Phanpy, Riolu, Shinx, and Vulpix. Two starters that are taken out are Meowth and Munchlax.
  • It will possibly be released in Japan sometime in Spring 2009 (that is to say, around Q1 2009).

And here are the screenshots:

sky_starter The five new starters.
sky_grovyle The aforementioned Grovyle. Possibly a continuation of the story from Explorers of Time/Darkness.
sky_screens1 Both Grovyle and Dusknoir are surrounded by four Sableye.

There are possibly more screenshots out there, but basically it’s the same one and being cut from the scanned CoroCoro page. A decent scan could be found here at Gamekyo. Images are thanks to Gamekyo and information are thanks to Serebii.net and Bulbapedia. Can’t wait to see the Japanese release so we can gather much more information on this. See you next post..!

Pokemon Platinum News: Battle Frontier

•January 7, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I’m so sorry for the previous month. I was so busy (not to mention I’m having my vacation) last month, also, my ISP is still not functioning properly (I was like, trying to upload the same picture several times and still failed, and the connection was worst, repeatedly disconnecting by itself) until now. I apology for the lack of updates on my sanctuary. However, I wanted to say have a very happy New Year 2009! This year, I’ll try to update my sanctuary more regularly than in 2008. Wishing you all the best luck this year too! Now, back to more Pokemon Platinum News (although it’s a bit old, should’ve been called olds, not news).

Much like the previous Pokemon Emerald, Pokemon Platinum also comes with the long anticipated battling facility for those battle freaks, the Sinnoh Battle Frontier. Set in the Fighter Area of Sinnoh, the new Battle Frontier holds five (yes, that’s a five) different battle facilities (as opposed to seven in Emerald), including two original facilities from the Hoenn Battle Frontier. The Battle Frontier mechanics haven’t changed much. You will have to beat the Frontier Brains once to get the first medal (usually a silver one) and the second one to get the colored medal (usually a gold one). Also, many legendary Pokemon are not allowed to enter the tournament in Battle Frontier. They are Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina (both Origin and Altered Forme), Manaphy, Phione, Darkrai, Shaymin (both Land and Sky Forme), and of course, the god of all Pokemon, Arceus.

The Sinnoh Battle Frontier, composed by five facilities. Before entering the Battle Frontier, you will be challenged by Volkner and Flint in the entrance.

Battle Tower
Battle Tower is situated in the north of Battle Frontier. It has the same mechanics as the one from Emerald version. Battling trainers in a streak. That’s all. Period. No other special requirements or rules. You will face the Tower Tycoon Palmer at 21 and 49 winning streaks.
